1. crystal lake:
   ahhh...crystal lake. In some ways, more beautiful than lake michigan. When I was 5, I was on the shore of Crystal on a kickboard, learning how to swim. When I was 10, I was playing teatherball with my CSA friends. When I was 15, I was going down the waterslide at midnight after teen dances. Now, I come back to spend days on the beach with family. catching up with CSA friends. sailing. watching my little cousins search for shells. wishing I was 5 again on a kickboard and rolling in the hot sand after just getting out of the cold water.
2. csa summers:
   CSA summers...pretty much everything I just wrote. But CSA teen dances come to mind. Those silly little themed, DJed dances where we'd all stand around in groups and talk, too scared to dance. Tad's "Cottage". Tennis. Operettas. I think about hanging out at the Getz cottage with Crissie, Meghan, Ellie and Pete. I think of the crazy ones like Carr, Jim, Sean and Kelsey...who, I'm guessing, are a lot wilder than I ever imagined. :) I can't wait to spend one more summer up there.
3. family time:
   I love spending time with my family. We're insanely close. I especially love being with my little cousins, Sam, Olivia and Sara. It's amazing what you can learn from little kids. They make you stop and think about life, just because of their innocence and honesty. My family is such a blessing.
4. friends:
   what can I say...Amy P, Jeff Loucks, Kaylie Steere, Kelsey and Crissie and Meghan, Sean and Jim and Carr, Ted, Geoff, Todd, Gitto, Randy, Kyle, Johnny B, TMonks...the list could go forever. Oh, the amazing drunk stumbles and awkward moments, late nights at little chef, GTs and Certain Things, lounging on the CSA beach with the crew.
5. hiking:
   I love to hike. Pretty much anything to do with the outdoors.
   I especially love The Appalachian Trail.
   Going to do Mt. Lecont after I graduate, and hopefully a good chunk of the Trail too.
6. lake michigan:
   Lake Michigan...It's pretty phenomenal to think that I live between two of the most beautiful lakes in the state of michigan. Mostly, we go to lake michigan for two reasons: A) to take Belle on walks and B) 4th of July Fireworks.
7. playing the piano:
   I've been playing since I was 4. I have a huge repetoire list, but my talent doesn't live up to the list. Had a great beginning teacher until I was 13, then switched to a less stable, incredibly emotional teacher who I probably shouldn't have taken from, but to give her the benefit of the doubt, I made it into the CMU music program on Piano. Arthritis has slowed me down a lot, i'll never be as good as I was that summer between senior year and my first year at college. But I still love to play. Favorite Piece? Rachmaninoff piano concerto #3. check it.
8. reading:
   My mom is a librarian, my dad has his masters in English. I especially love children's literature. Sean and I would walk to the library after school on Mondays and Wednesdays while my mom was working. I'd sit in the peacock chair and read the babysitters club books and Nancy Drew. Once I was introduced to the mystery section (when my mom thought I was old enough), I had a permanent spot in that corner. Now? I love classic literature. I've read pride and prejudice 6 times.
9. rollerblading:
   I'm pretty awful at it, not gonna lie. It's a good workout though, man...what a burn. But yeah...definitely the worst. haven't quite got the whole balance and glide concepts down.
10. singing:
    So, I sang in the Crystal Lake Southern baptist choir. Good Ol' Gospel music. Took private lessons senior year. Decided to audition to be a Vocal major at CMU. was accepted. I love it. I've never felt good at anything until now.
